Dr. Norine T. Kanter joined New Britain Pediatric Group in 1999. A native of Newington Connecticut, she attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and an Honors Scholar in the field of Molecular Cell Biology with a Genetics Concentration. For medical school, she went to the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center at Brooklyn, aka SUNY Downstate. While there, she fused her interest in genetics and medicine with a love for pediatrics. She completed her residency at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Some of her notable work includes presentations on closed head injuries in athletes and on inborn errors of metabolisms. Dr. Kanter’s interests continue to include genetics, along with developmental and behavior pediatrics.

Dr. Kanter is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is an Attending Physician at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus.

Dr. Kanter lives with her husband and three children in the community in which she practices. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer, and eating sushi.
